Terms

These terms describe how a Static City Studios job works. Each job is confirmed by email before it starts.

Scope

A vocal mix covers one song up to 5 minutes, up to 8 vocal tracks and one stereo beat you supply. New recordings, beat production and work beyond the agreed scope are quoted separately.

Quoted services (stem mixing, mastering, mix and master, tuning, editing, songwriting, hooks) follow the scope, price and timing in the written quote we send you.

Revisions

Each vocal mix includes one consolidated revision to the agreed mix. Send all your notes together. Changes outside the agreed scope, or a second round, are quoted before we start them.

Payment

A 50% deposit is invoiced to start the job. The balance is due before the full-quality files are sent.

Cancellation

The deposit holds your start date and the time set aside for your job. If you cancel after paying it, the deposit is not refunded.

Refunds

• If we cannot deliver the agreed scope, for example because we cannot finish the work, we refund what you paid for the work we did not deliver.
• If your files turn out to be unusable after you pay the deposit, we tell you what is needed. If the job cannot go ahead with workable files, the deposit is not refunded, as with a cancellation.
• Once the full-quality files are delivered, the job is complete and payments are not refunded.
• Previews are for review. If you stop after a preview, the deposit is not refunded and the full-quality files are not sent.

Delivery

Delivery is 3 business days after we have usable files, a reference track, the deposit and a confirmed start date. Final files are WAV and MP3.

Who owns what

• Your song is yours. Mixing, mastering, tuning and editing do not give Static City Studios any ownership, publishing or royalty share in your music.
• For songwriting, toplines, hooks and guest vocals, credits and any splits are agreed in writing before work starts.
• A credit such as “Mixed by Static City Studios” is welcome but up to you.

Your audio

Your songs are used only for your job. They appear as examples on this site only with your permission, and before and after clips are always volume-matched. You can withdraw that permission at any time and we take the example down.

File storage

We keep your files and project for 90 days after delivery, so a lost download or a small fix is easy. After that we may delete them. Keep your own copies of everything you send and receive.
