A custom vocal preset is a vocal chain built from your own recordings: your voice, your microphone and your room. A pre-made preset is built on someone else's, which is why it often sounds harsh or thin on your vocal.

Record clean before any preset

  • Leave headroom: your loudest words should stay well below clipping
  • Record dry, with no reverb or effects printed
  • Use the same mic and room you plan to keep using
  • A preset is a starting point. It fits the recording chain it was built on.

How custom presets works

    We check that the files are usable and confirm the scope.

    You get a 50% deposit invoice and a confirmed start date.

    The mix lands

    Your mix arrives within 3 business days of the start date.

    Final files

    One consolidated revision, then the balance, then the final WAV and MP3.

What is a custom vocal preset?

Why do pre-made presets sound wrong on my voice?

They were built on someone else's voice, mic and room, often at a different input level. A chain built from your recording starts from what you actually sound like.

When will custom presets be available?

Will it work in my DAW and with my plugins?

Supported DAWs and plugins will be listed when it opens.

Is this the same as a vocal mix?

No. A vocal mix finishes one song. A preset is a starting chain you reuse in your own sessions.
