Rap
Doubles and adlibs tight to the lead, and punch-ins joined so the flow sounds like one take.
Vocal editing and comping builds one clean performance from your takes: choosing the best parts, cleaning noise and tightening timing. Cleanup is part of every vocal mix. Editing and comping across many takes is quoted after we see your session.
01What it is
Recorded vocals and a beat, and you want a finished mix (tuning and cleanup are included)
You mix the song yourself, but want the pitch handled
Many takes, and you want one clean, timed performance
Nothing recorded yet
Comping builds one performance from several takes: the best line from take 2, the best ending from take 4, joined so you cannot hear the edits. Editing then cleans and tightens it: noise, clicks and pops out, breaths lowered, and doubles and adlibs moved into time with the lead.
02Sound and scope
Doubles and adlibs tight to the lead, and punch-ins joined so the flow sounds like one take.
Timing that can sit behind the beat on purpose, and breaths softened rather than cut, when the song wants them.
Chopped, stuttered and rearranged vocal edits built as part of the sound, not just cleanup.
Takes joined so the performance feels live and honest, with breaths and room left in where they add to it.

Enough to choose from. Three or more full takes of each part is common, then punch in on the lines you want to improve.
Usually turned down. Removing every breath can make a vocal sound unnatural. Tell us if you want them gone.
Moving doubles, adlibs and harmonies so they start and stop with the lead, so the stack sounds tight.
Every take of each part as a WAV, all exported from the same start point, plus a lyric sheet with your favorite lines marked.
A 50% deposit is invoiced to start the job. The balance is due before the full-quality files are sent. If you cancel after paying the deposit, it is not refunded.
